Weekend Update - 8/22/2015

This was a big weekend!  Luke had his first soccer game of the season and scored 2 goals!  He wasn't really into playing, but still played really well.  It was so nice, everyone came to watch the game - Ally, Mawmaw, Mamaw, Uncle Dave, Aunt Tami, Aunt Tammy.  Luke is so lucky to have all the support that he has.

(Did I mention that he has the cutest Assistant Coach ever?  I will make sure to get a picture at our next game.  One hint who it is - he looks just like Mr. Lucas!)

It was a big weekend for the house as well.  We looked at carpet and had our interior doors changed to be the 6 panel doors.  Total gamechanger.  It looks so amazing!  It's funny, we have lived with the dark brown doors for 11 years, but now with the new white doors everything looks so different!  We are trying to update the house little by little before the baby gets here.

To do list
Carpet the bedrooms and the front room
Install hardwood on the stairs
Install hardwood in the upstairs hallway
Update the railing in the overhang
Update the finished wood piece on the stairway
Paint the entire downstairs
Paint the new doors upstairs
Install new trim upstairs?

On Saturday night we also went to Drew and Megan's house.  Drew is home for this weekend, so it was really nice to just hang out with them.  I feel so lucky to have great neighbors and just love Emerson...she is so sweet!

On Sunday I spent some time at my parents house and then hung out with my two handsome dudes.  Last minute Luke and I decided to go see the Minions movie, we needed some special time with just the two of us.  Love that kid!

Luke's first day of Kindergarten

When did my baby get so big?!?

Lucas was so excited for the first day of school, so confident, so happy...Leave it to me to be an emotional mess!  We had open house the night before school so he could learn where his classroom was and meet his teacher again.  He did great! Luke and Matt went through all the activities while I filled out paperwork through tears.  I cried the entire night...you know it is bad when your five year old tells you it will be okay!

We got up on the first day of school and he was so happy go lucky, not really realizing what was going on.  Matt and I took him down and walked him to his room.  I was fine - no tears in sight - until Indigo came up to talk to Luke.  Just the fact that she went out of her way to find him and talk to him made me burst into tears.  We walked him to his classroom and I just continued crying.  Keep in mind that no other parents were crying...They were more like - lets go get some Starbucks and go to target!  I'm like - my baby is all grown up, next thing I know he will be getting married and moving out!  It is totally ridiculous and everyone keeps telling me it is just because of my pregnancy hormones.  If only it was just my hormones!  This is just me, an emotional mess!

Matt and I then picked Luke up after school and I thought for sure I would be able to hold it together (I should have known better).   When he came through the gym doors holding Aiden's hand my heart just exploded!  The kindness that Aiden and Indigo have shown has just blown me away.  They are making this transition to kindergarten so much easier, for Luke and I both.  It makes me feel so happy to know that they go out of their way for Luke to make sure he is okay and everything is good.  sigh... they are such good kids!

AND - the biggest news ever.... Luke lost his first tooth on his first day of school!  He said he pulled it out while his entire class was surrounding him.  Apparently  that gives you major street cred in Kindergarten.  lol.  His cute little toothless grin is so cute!

Baby #2!

So... this happened!

Due date: 11/25/15
How far along: 24 weeks aka 6 MONTHS!!!
Gender: BOY!
Maternity clothes: For the most part I have been getting by with my pregnancy clothes from when I was pregnant with Lucas and tops I already have in my closet.
Weight gain: At my doctor's appointment today i was up 1 lb from last month.  The nurse said I was up 4 lbs total, but I thought I was only at +1 from last time... hmmm...
Sleep: Overall, not so bad.  If I could only get Luke to stay in his bed all night and not wake me up!!
Workouts: Long walks in Target - does that count?
Stretch Marks?: aplenty!
Labor Signs: Nope
Belly Button In or out?: In
Wedding rings on or off?: wedding band on, engagement ring too tight
Pregnancy symptoms: none really
Are you showing yet?: Yes!
Best moment this week: Matt is almost done with his summer session of grad school!  YAY!  This summer session has been hard for all of us because he has the same class M/W, so not a lot of free time.
Movement: I can officially see him moving around through my shirt.  I can't wait for Luke to feel him kicking.
Miss anything?: really missing having a beer...
Cravings: nothing really.
Queasy or sick: not really...although I did get sick last week when we were out to dinner.  I had to leave it was so bad!
Nursery: still mostly set up from Mr. Lucas.  We are planning on starting to get it back in working order over the next month while Matt is on school break.
Latest doctor's appointment: Today, 24 weeks.  Everything went well.  They gave me another ultrasound bc last month the baby wasn't cooperating when it came time to get pics of the heart.  Today he looked good!  The technician said with the height and weight measurements, he is exactly in the 54th percentile.  I'm thinking that is a good thing and he will be more like his brother and less like his daddy!  Matt was a 10 lb baby, whereas Luke was 6 lb 13oz.
Next appointment: Next Dr. appt is 9/1/15.  Glucose test - Yuck!
Looking forward to: Spending a lot more time with Matt and Lucas this next month!
